Moving AGAIN!!!
When will it end!?! I have yet to live in one dwelling for more than 4 years! You’d think I’d be an expert by now but my house looks something like this and the movers come tomorrow afternoon!
So here’s where the expert kicks in – getting it set by then! Hehe.
My apologies to all I haven’t replied to recently – I promise to get all caught up next week! Here is an update until then:
I made it as far as the second and final interview for the Administrator position and got the rejection letter earlier this week. I’m totally bummed as I worked hard for those interviews and have been waiting since I applied in early November of last year. Life goes on.
Since that fell through, it looks like I’ll take a teaching job again because I have to do something! It’ll be a new teaching challenge though – at a private Japanese Junior/Senior High School that has a strong English curriculum. I’m nervous to get up in front of 35-40 sixteen year olds!! This means my vacations will come twice a year in the Summer & Winter breaks (yay – the most expensive time to travel 😉 and since I haven’t been home in 16 months I plan to book a trip home after school ends (March 18th) until before school starts (around April 7th). I haven’t booked flights yet but will probably be in SC at my mom’s from 3/19 until 4/2, visit my dad in CA and go to SF for the 5th & 6th (if my friends will have me!). All this is tentative but just to give you a head’s up!
I also took the part time job at the Patent Attorney – Translator’s office. Seems a bit crazy but it’s something else for the resume!
Ok – I’ll leave you with this to make you smile and get back to packing! I found this cutie chillin in a parked bike on the side of the road – good spot!
Hi Heather, greetings from RI,
Loved your New Years postcard, you looked stunning and very happy on your wedding day, (mom showed me lots of pics here too!) I’m so happy for you. Good luck with the new job, you are brave to face teens but with your personality, they will LOVE you!
Know that we are thinking of you both often and sending lots of love and warm wishes!
Elizabeth & Paul
I hear ya! I haven’t lived in one place more than 3 years… and I detest moving. I do have to say though – having movers is waaaay better than the move yourself option. 🙂
I hope you get everything done on time and that you love your new place! I’d love to see pics of it. You’re not going to know what to do with all that space. Oh, I know… you could fill it up with some babies! 😉
Love ya!
WOW!!!
Good luck with the move and don’t forget to send photos of the new place :)Maybe you could make a slight detour on your way to the States and pop in to see me in Oz on the way? 😉
Elizabeth & Paul,
Hello! I think of everyone in RI all the time too – did you get all the snow i heard about in the NE last weekend? What a mess! I hope it was all okay there and just fun for the children!
Your christmas picture was gorgeous too – what beautiful girls you have and with such fantastic and different personalities. I can’t wait for the next time we meet as i know they’re maturing so fast!
It was so amazing to have your mom here for the wedding – how honored we were! I wish we could have the time & money to have a wedding in both countries but it’s just not possible. We were so lucky to have the family & friends who were able to come from afar and the rest who sent so much love in other ways! We adore the crystal dragonfly – i was so worried packing it up for the move! It’s too bad that we can’t make it up north for our next visit but i guess we have to take turns – one year family up north – one year out west, etc. And i tell you – the longer i live abroad – the more friends i have scattered about the globe! what to do!?! no – i just feel happy and blessed – only wish there were more opportunities to travel.
love to you and all the RI crew!
Heidi,
wow – you have me beat! seriously!?! nuts. i guess 3.5 years is my longest – the Garden City place from HS graduation till i moved to PI. isn’t it crazy? this is the first time using movers since we moved as a family though – and as the furniture gets larger and heavier and i don’t know anyone with a pick-up truck in japan – thank god!
sucks that they don’t cut you a deal even when you’re only moving a few blocks away – nope. same price and same amount of packing/unpacking for us to do! this time i was doing it for two though!! that was a first.
babies!?! haha – you sound like isseki’s grandmother!
Gilly,
Oh how i wish i could!! I would LOVE to visit you and see the wonderful world of Oz! So many places to go…
See today’s post for pics!
Good luck with the start of Uni!! Tell me how it goes!
