The “Black/Black” would be ok, but the “Whity-Whity” would be all over the news and cause demonstrations and race riots – lol! Have you heard all the buzz about the Mayor of New Orleans and his comments about N.O. being a “chocolate city” again? Imagine what would happen if a white politician made a comment like that?
Maybe ’cause it makes your teeth whity-whity? I actually think it’s good that they didn’t think of the race thing as a possible interpretation – that means it was the furthest thing from their minds. I like that they are unaffected by it. It can get ridiculous when people turn the most innocent things into race issues. One recent thing here was some black people got all upset because a teacher told a student that he was “the pot calling the kettle black” – and they said the teacher was racist.
とっきー恵(Meg)さん、thanks for stopping by! come by anytime to practice your english – are you on マイミクシー?
Heidi, that’s so funny – chocolate lova! i’m sure the whity one is for the teeth – we did a taste test on the phone today of the black black and it was mostly just cough drop flavored. it is good that they don’t seem to think about it much here but that’s because as far as the market in japan goes, foreigners are barely a blip on the demographic radar!! ignorance is bliss 😉
Isseki, do you wanna go back to having to login to my ‘puter as guest or something? just cause your english is so good doesn’t mean you can go about impersonating me! 😉 i fixed so you’re off the hook this time.♪★
white white does seem like a better choice – and would make them a good marketing foil for each other – Black Black/White White makes Grey Grey. what are those Lotte people thinking!?!
If only the innocence of the Japanese was worldwide!! Keep posting the crazy pictures of Japan… I need my dose every now and again 😉 Can you believe that I miss quirky Japan already??
Gilly – re: world: don’t i wish! but then again – is it only the ignorance that is bliss here? a japanese girl mentioned to me that the japanese don’t hate the chinese as much as vice-versa cause they don’t even think about WWII really anymore – but the Chinese are reminded of it all the time. do you think if the younger generation were just not taught about the bad things other countries had done we could all just get along? hummm…
re: nippon: of course you do! but you know it’s me you miss the most!

i wonder why didn’t they name it white white instead of whity whity..seems like asking for trouble right?
