Finally!!
An interview!! Friday!! I’m really nervous because I really am not sure they want to hire me – they’ve been putting off the interview until about a month before the job will begin and they posted the job on the front page of their website a few weeks ago. I will interview with the lady currently in the position that’s becoming available and a woman on the board of directors – both who I studied Japanese with once/week during the brief time I volunteered at the office in fall 2004. All I can hope is that they receive me with an open mind and give me a fair chance.
I’ll need to be able to come up with solutions for their main issue: membership base. It’s changing and they are trying to target the new demographic but haven’t had much luck. I’ve been researching the expat situation in this area and it’s a really difficult to figure out what would make people want to join this kind of community if they don’t have a family living close by with lots of free time to participate in their M-F classes. I’ll give it my best shot though – keep your fingers crossed!
At least I’ll be able to know about the job one way or the other soon. I am going to have to give notice to my other jobs just in case this one works out soon because they need a month to replace a teacher – I might be unemployed in march!
Other news: we’re moving Feb 10th! Figured, if they are going to make us pay for both places from then we might as well go to the bigger/nicer place first…exciting but I have to get packing!!
I haven’t been booted out of the gym yet but I have only been 4 times. Aquabix (no it’s not what you had for breakfast) and I tried a yoga/pilates class. Hopefully I’ll be back in shape soon – but considering that it took the guy on Supersize me 14 months to lose 25lbs he gained in 1 month – time isn’t on my side. I feel better already at least!
Interviews are so tricky, they would be so lucky to have such a passionate person on there team. All things new this year, new job new house new body and mind!! I find it so hard to think about the pounds, I think they say 80% what you eat 20% work-out. I have been doing bikra yoga, which is done in a heated room 100 degrees! HOT !!!
kristen!! yeah – interviews suck! after this week i should be more of a pro about it though – one friday, tuesday, wednesday, again today (friday)!! i’m so tired – i am worried about the one today. and i only own 1 suit! which i wore to the first interview and the second one is today…what to do…
thanks for the kind words!! i hope i can make whoever’s team i decide to join feel lucky!!
the yoga sounds CRAZY – i guess if your body’s warm it’ll move easier, right? but yikes! let me know what kind of results you see!
